How to export NatWest statements to Excel or CSV

Updated 4 November 2026 · Rowclean

NatWest Online Banking has an Export to Excel option on the transaction search. Statements stay available as PDFs for up to 7 years. Credit cards have a much shorter limit of 3 months.

Export NatWest transactions to Excel

  1. Log in to Online Banking and open Statements & transactions.
  2. Choose View transactions.
  3. Pick the account and set your search fields, then press View transactions.
  4. Choose Export to Excel (or Download PDF).

NatWest doesn't say on these pages whether the Excel file is .xls, .xlsx or CSV, or how far back the export reaches, so check the first file you get.

Download a NatWest PDF statement

Under Statements & transactions you can download recent or older statements going back up to 7 years for the account you choose. A new statement shows as soon as it has been issued.

NatWest credit cards

So save card statements as they arrive if you'll need them later. For an older card PDF, Rowclean has a credit card reader that checks the rows against the statement balance.

What happened to NatWest midata?

It's gone. NatWest says it no longer offers midata downloads because they've been superseded by initiatives such as Open Banking.

Business accounts on Bankline

Bankline is NatWest's separate business platform with its own export. FreeAgent lists NatWest Bankline among the bank CSV formats it accepts directly.

Turning a NatWest PDF into CSV

Once a period is only in PDF form, you need rows you can trust. Check that previous balance + money in − money out equals every printed balance. Rowclean shows that check before you pay.

Only have the PDF statement?

Rowclean turns it into a CSV in your browser (nothing is uploaded), shows every row with its page and line, and checks the running balance to the penny before you pay. £3 for your first statement, then 99p each, with no signup.
