How to download Nationwide statements as CSV or Excel

Updated 4 November 2026 · Rowclean

Nationwide has a shorter window than most big banks: 15 months of transactions and 36 months of PDF statements. Save anything you'll need later before it drops off.

Download Nationwide transactions

  1. Log in to the internet bank on a computer and open the account.
  2. Choose Download transactions.
  3. Pick the format you need and the dates.

Nationwide's own pages say you "select the format you require" without listing the formats. Accountants' guides and forum posts describe CSV and OFX options, with CSV capped at one UK tax year per download.

Download a PDF statement

The internet bank lets you view and download 36 months of PDF statements. In the app, the same 36 months are under My Documents. One statement covers one account.

Credit cards

Previous card summaries are available for up to 15 months, with their own Download transactions option. For a PDF, see our credit card reader.

Turning a saved Nationwide PDF into CSV

A statement you saved four years ago is out of reach of every export, but still usable. Rowclean reads it in your browser and checks the balance to the penny before you pay.

Only have the PDF statement?

Rowclean turns it into a CSV in your browser (nothing is uploaded), shows every row with its page and line, and checks the running balance to the penny before you pay. £3 for your first statement, then 99p each, with no signup.

Questions

Why can't I see Nationwide transactions older than 15 months?

That's the internet bank's window. Use PDF statements for up to 36 months back.

Does midata include this month?

No. It leaves out the 31 days before the download.
