How to export Monzo transactions and statements as CSV

Monzo makes this easier than most banks: PDF, CSV and QIF are all in the app. What catches people out is what's missing from a bank feed, and what a CSV can't tell you.

Personal and joint accounts

On the Home screen, tap the three dots under your card.
Choose Bank statements.
Pick the date range.
Choose PDF, CSV or QIF.

Pot statements are included and appear after your main account statement.

Business accounts

App: Home › Manage › Bank statements, then dates and format.
Web: on business.monzo.com, use Export statement on the home screen.
Auto-export (Pro and Team plans): last month's statement goes to Google Drive or OneDrive on the 1st of each month, in PDF, CSV or QIF.

What a Monzo CSV or feed won't tell you

Pot transfers: Xero's Monzo feed doesn't import "Transfer to Pot" lines. Xero says to import them manually.
Declined payments: QuickBooks users have reported declined transactions arriving through the feed as if they'd settled. A manual CSV is the reported workaround.
Who spent it: forum users report the joint account CSV doesn't show which cardholder made a payment.
Running balance: Monzo added one to business CSVs in 2024. We couldn't confirm it for personal CSVs.

Is a Monzo statement valid for a mortgage or visa?

Monzo says all its statements are original documents, so no stamp is needed. It can provide stamped or posted copies on request.

Closed Monzo accounts

Monzo emails a password-protected statement with your full history and texts you the password.

When you only have the PDF

If you've closed the account, or someone sent you the statement, the CSV option isn't there any more. Rowclean turns the PDF back into rows in your browser and checks the balance before you pay.

How far back can I export Monzo transactions?

Monzo's help pages don't state a limit. The date picker is the only constraint we could find.

Does Monzo connect to accounting software?
